Hi, my name is Kim Offenbecher. I have been surrounded by food for as long as I can remember. My parents owned several restaurants, which I grew up working at with my parents and siblings. This started my journey into food service. I loved the different people I met, the food I served, and ensuring that the service and atmosphere was the best.
My personal cooking journey began after my husband and I moved to Madison, where I really missed the taco pizza we had at the restaurant. I tried many of the types available here in Madison, to no avail! I finally decided I would recreate my favorite pizza at home. I learned how to make the perfect crust in a home kitchen then I broke down the different components and tweaked them until I had perfectly recreated the Happy Joe's Taco Pizza. From that success, my journey picked up speed. If a recipe didn't turn out the way I anticipated or imagined, back to the drawing board I went. I read cookbooks like novels (still do), I studied food magazines, and I fed anybody who was willing to try my food creations.
When my husband was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2001my cooking journey took another turn. I was determined that we would eat as well, maybe even better than we did before; I began researching about the celiac disease and how cooking without the common flours and grains could change the texture and end results of our favorite meals. Over the years I have learned to use my cooking skills to recreate family favorites and ensure our entire family eats the same meal . I am extremely sensitive to those who have had to alter their eating habits due to health, or dietary reasons and am very careful about ensuring the taste, quality and safety of all the meals I prepare for my clients.
I am self taught and proud of the many years I have spent in pursuit of my passion. I look forward to serving you high quality, delicious meals made with the freshest ingredients available.
